NETWORKING

Student Pugwash




The mission of Student Pugwash USA is to promote social responsibility in science and technology. The Rockefeller chapter organizes talks and discussions around campus and helps with educational outreach events.
In fact, the Student Pugwash chapter at Rockefeller has planned an exciting lecture series for this fall!

Minority Graduate Student Network

The New York City Minority Graduate Student Network is an organization founded and maintained by minority graduate students in the biomedical and natural sciences. It is a community in which minority graduate students can interact with their peers as well as with post-doctoral fellows, established scientists and other professionals.

RU Biotechnology Forum




The Forum aims to promote interest and entrepreneurship in the life sciences industry via educational and networking events involving both the academic and business communities. The Forum’s activities are composed of seminars and special events.

Student Representative Council



A place to send your issues and concerns if you are a student. They are the student liaison to the RU administration.

Postdoctoral Association (PDA)



A place to send your issues and concerns if you are a post-doc. They are the post-doc liaison to the RU administration.The PDA also supports a number of activities for the Rockefeller post-doc community.

Neglected Tropical Disease Group

Yeast Club

A community for those at Rockefeller who work on yeast. Talks are given by students, postdocs, and invited speakers.

ARTS, CULTURE AND FUN

Rockefeller University Film Series

The Rockefeller University Film Series is a student-run organization that aims to create awareness about science using film and video.

Darwin’s Finches



A small a cappella group of students and postdocs. The finches sing a wide range of music, from renaissance to radiohead.

A newsletter written by and produced for the Rockefeller community.

Improvisational Theater Group

Adria LeBoeuf,

The Rockefeller Improvisational Theater group meets weekly to play improv games and have fun. Also, off-campus guerrilla theater events are held sporadically. Beginners are welcome.

Faculty and Students Club

A great place to socialize and imbibe intoxicating fluids. The club hosts a variety of events, including annual darts and pool competitions.

Rockefeller Gym Classes

A number of classes are offered at the gym on the 6th floor of Founder’s hall:

All classes cost money and more information can be found through Human Resources (x8300, 1st floor of Founder’s hall).

Scholar’s Residence Classes

A few more classes can be found on the 38th floor of Scholar’s Residence: Swing and Ballroom dance lessons () and Yoga classes (). Again, both cost money.
